Filipinos: How to Recover Old US Company Stock (ESPP/RSU)

If you worked for a US company — here or in the US — and had ESPP or RSUs, an account you lost touch with is most likely recoverable.

Two paths

(1) Still at the broker/transfer agent, or (2) escheated to a US state and claimable forever.

For PH residents

  • Foreign-address accounts often go to Delaware — check its own site, not only the aggregator.
  • Trace an acquired/renamed company on SEC EDGAR; shares convert and the right carries over.
  • Passport vs registered-name spelling is the usual snag — keep proof of identity.
  • Taxes: US withholding (treaty + W-8BEN) and PH rules. Confirm with someone who does cross-border before cashing out.
